It takes 3 weeks…
By admin | January 4, 2008
According to some expert opinions it takes an individual at least 3 weeks to adapt into something new. For example, if you do the same thing everyday at exactly 12PM for 3 weeks straight and then on 22nd day you simply stop doing it. You’ll feel an urge to do it even though you don’t have to anymore. At this point you’ve basically formed a routine habit that’s hard to let go and if it’s a good habit, you’re set otherwise you’re screwed.
Anyway, to get back, this article does have a point and that is to make exercise a habit and a part of your daily life. Suppose you set a goal for yourself to do very minimal exercise say as soon as you wake up for 10-15 minutes. Whether you wake up at 6AM or 10AM that doesn’t matter. The goal is to wake up do some sort of exercise for 15 minutes prior to heading out to start the day.
If you stick to this routine for about 3 weeks…you’ll make it a habit and hopefully it’ll stick with you for long term.
